An Undated (probably 1960s) Re-Release Theatrical Linenbacked French One-Panel "Grande" Movie Poster (1p; measures 44 1/2" x 61 1/4" [113 x 156 cm]) (Learn More) Limelight, the 1952 Charles Chaplin stage acting aging comedian romantic comedy ("Charles Chaplin in his human drama 'Limelight' it will move you to love, laughter and tears"; "The masterpiece of laughter and tears from the master of comedy!") starring Charlie Chaplin (Charles Chaplin; "In his human drama"; as Calvero), Claire Bloom, Sydney Chaplin, Nigel Bruce, Norman Lloyd, Buster Keaton (this was the only movie Keaton and Chaplin appeared in together!), Marjorie Bennett, "and for the Ballet, Andre Eglevsky, and Melissa Hayden". Note that this movie was released in 1952, but did not play in any theaters in the Los Angeles area until the 1972 re-release! This made it eligible for the Academy Awards in 1972, 20 years after its initial release! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had some tiny paper loss at some crossfolds and a few tiny bits of surface paper loss on parts of some folds. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Learn More about condition grades
