An Original Vintage Theatrical Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) The Barefoot Contessa, the 1954 Joseph L. Mankiewicz Italian/U.S. romantic melodrama ("'The World's most beautiful animal!'"; also written by Joseph L. Mankiewicz; told in flashbacks, it starts with the funeral of a glamorous movie star, and men in her life recall their interactions with her) starring Humphrey Bogart, Ava Gardner, Edmond O'Brien (winner of the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), Marius Goring, Valentina Cortesa, Rossano Brazzi, Elizabeth Sellars, Warren Stevens, Bessie Love, and Riccardo Rioli. Note that this movie has a similar structure to that of Citizen Kane, which was written by screenwriter Joseph L. Mankiewicz's older brother, Herman J. Mankiewicz! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good. The card had darkened and it had stains, smudges, and some tears around the edges, with some scattered in the image. Overall, the card was in fair to good condition prior to restoration. A talented restorer gel backed the card (meaning they backed the card onto a gel material) and they then performed restoration to the above defects, and then removed the gel backing, so that the card still exactly looks and feels like an original card (and it is!), with no backing at all. However, you can still see signs of the restoration, and the defects, and the card acquired a small piece of tape in the center of the top and bottom borders, plus two small tears in the middle of the right border after it was backed.
