An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 28 1/4" x 40 3/4" [72 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Merry Maids of the Gay Way, the 1954 James R. Connell burlesque sexploitation movie ("Big-Time Burlesque as you like it!"; "Stars and Strips Galore!"; "Delectable damsels in daring dances! New, different, tantalizing, teasing, daring, torrid") starring Zabuda ("Terrific Turkish Torso Twister"), Billy Reed ("And dozens of deluscious [sic] dancing dolls"), Cherri Lee (known as the "New Orleans Pepper Pot", she opens the movie by tap dancing, before she bumps & grinds), Doreen Cannon, and other burlesque dancers. Apparently this was either all shot at a single burlesque theater, or clips from several theaters. The company that has re-issued many movies such as this, Something Weird Video, has issued this on DVD, and they have identified all the performers of the movie on their website. Certainly, the poster makes this movie seem far better than it actually was, and it has many excellent taglines (but we don't know what "deluscious" means!). Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair. The poster had much scattered areas of paper loss on all the folds and around the edges and it had darkened in those areas as well. A person who knows how to mount the poster did so well, but they made a pretty half-hearted attempt at "restoration" (but to be fair, it would cost a fortune to make the poster look perfect). Overall, the poster was in fair condition prior to linenbacking. In spite of its considerable flaws, the poster can still be displayed and enjoyed. Learn More about condition grades
