An Original 1953 Vintage Local Theatrical Double-Bill Window Card Movie Poster (measures 13 1/4" x 19") (Learn More) the double-bill release of By the Light of the Silvery Moon, the 1953 David Butler musical ("They're Wooin' and Doin' The Things Boys and Girls Like To Do..."; "Warner Bros.' wonderfully warm-hearted croonin' and spoonin' musical delight!") starring Doris Day, Gordon MacRae, Billy Gray, Leon Ames, and Rosemary DeCamp. Note that at this time Warner Brothers was looking for movies to make with Doris Day and so they chose to re-make one of their successful "Penrod" movies of the 1930s, but they switched the emphasis from the Penrod character to his tomboy older sister (played by Day)! AND The System, the 1953 Lewis Seiler crime film noir ("They were kid-goves with brass-knuckles underneath! The gangland overlords who rolled the crime-syndicates into one vicious rule-by-terror called THE SYSTEM!") starring Frank Lovejoy, Joan Weldon, Robert Arthur, Paul Picerni, Don Beddoe, and Jerome Cowan NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this window card measures 13 1/4" x 19". Please do not bid on this poster thinking it is 14" x 22". Condition: good. water stains, pinholes, smudges, and tiny paper loss around the edges of the card; a few smudges in the image area This window card is in "lesser" condition (it is clearly in less than "very good" condition, and may be all the way down to "fair" condition, as we are selling a collection of early window cards that were found inside of a wall, and those all have water stains and other defects, which should be easily seen on our large images)! This window card has clear defects, which are likely to be very noticeable in our "large" or "super-sized" images that you can click on from our small image at right. In addition, we have also noted in words what these defects are in our "Description of Defects" section above, as some of these defects may not be all that visible in the images. We know that some collectors could accept this window card's defects, and display it as is, and we also know that many collectors would only be happy with this window card if they had it restored, so please do not bid on it unless you can accept it as it is, or are willing to pay to have it properly restored. Of course, you should realize that if you do not bid on this window card because of its condition defects, it may be quite some time before you see this window card offered again!
