An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Open the Door Richard, the classic 1945 William Forest Crouch black African American musical comedy short (about a drunk man returning home and he can't get in) starring Dusty Fletcher (composer of the song, "Open the Door Richard"), Fred Winn, and Stepin Fetchit. Note that there is much conflicting information about this short all over the Internet. Was it released in 1945 or 1947? Was it originally part of the movie "Hi De Ho" and extracted from it? Does Dusty Fletcher and his band perform the title song? Is the title character played by Dusty Fletcher or by Stepin Fetchit? You can find different answers to these questions depending on where you look! If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Prior to linenbacking, there were some areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster in the blank white areas and there was an uneven strip of paper loss in the top left of the poster, slightly affecting both the "T"s in "DUSTY" and "FLETCHER", and the blank background area between the "T" of "FLETCHER" and the "T" of "THE". Other than the above basically minor defects (which were almost all in the blank white areas), the poster was in nice condition prior to backing. It was quite nicely backed and looks great!
