Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (released in other English-speaking countries as "Butch Cassidy" and as "Butch Cassidy and the Kid"), the classic 1969 George Roy Hill (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) outlaw cowboy western ("You've never met a pair like Butch and The Kid"; "Not that it matters, but most of it is true."; "They're taking trains... They're taking banks... And they're taking one piece of baggage!"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; with a superb script by William Goldman) starring Paul Newman (in the title role as Butch Cassidy; "is Butch Cassidy"), Robert Redford (in the title role as The Sundance Kid; "The Sundance Kid is Robert Redford"), Katharine Ross ("is Etta Place"), Strother Martin, Jeff Corey (as the old sheriff), Henry Jones (as the bike salesman), Ted Cassidy (as Harvey Logan), George Furth (as Woodcock), Cloris Leachman (as Agnes), Kenneth Mars (as the Marshal), Timothy Scott (as News Carver), and Charles Dierkop (as Flat Nose Curry)

Artist: Tom Beauvais
Important Added Info: Note that this British quad has a far superior image to that of either of the U.S. one-sheets for this classic western, and almost all collectors feel it is THE poster to own from this movie. We have only auctioned four examples of it in all our years of auctioning (and one was in much lesser condition). The last time we auctioned it, it sold for $1,202!

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some extra folds, small tears, and tiny paper loss on parts of most folds. It had play dates stenciled in the bottom blank area and pinholes, tears, and paper loss around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
