An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Campaign Book Page (measures 10 3/4" x 14" [27 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Norma Shearer was the great MGM leading lady of the 1920s and 1930s. She was married to studio head Irving Thalberg in 1927, and that seemed to greatly help her career, and his untimely death in 1936 seemed to coincide with the decline of her career. But that is probably really unfair, because while her marriage to Thalberg greatly helped her get top parts, she did wonderfully in many major movies! Some of her movies include: Romeo & Juliet (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), The Barretts of Wimpole Street, Marie Antoinette (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), The Divorcee (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Escape, Free Soul (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Their Own Desire (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), and The Women. She passed away in 1983 at the age of 80. Important Added Info: Note that this item is a page from a Metro-Goldwyn campaign book (almost surely the one from 1925-1926, but possibly 1924-1925). It has a 6" x 8" black & white photo "tipped-in" to the page, which is how it was originally created. We were consigned a total of five of these pages, each with a portrait of a different star, and we are auctioning them in five separate auctions. Condition: very good. The page was removed from a campaign book (see above). Someone trimmed off the left 1/4" where there were tiny binding holes. Learn More about condition grades
