An Original Vintage Movie Script (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm], 63 pages) (Learn More) The Party (released in Italy as "Hollywood Party"), the 1968 Blake Edwards Hollywood movie making acting mistaken identity screwball comedy ("If you've ever been to a wilder party - You're Under Arrest!"; about a major Hollywood production that includes an Indian actor, and the producers hire a real film star from India to play the part, but he is terrible, and he is intended to be fired, but he is accidentally invited to a party instead, with very comic results) starring Peter Sellers, Claudine Longet, Jean Carson, Gavin MacLeod, and James Lanphier. Note that it is said that Peter Sellers did not have a script, and that he improvised all of his dialog, and that the other actors had to "follow his lead", which would, of course, be incredibly difficult. The movie has gained a significant cult following over the years since its release! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this script is the revised draft from April 12, 1967 and the screenplay was written by Blake Edwards, Tom Waldman & Frank Waldman. Also note that the script has the working title "R.S.V.P.", but the movie ultimately was called "The Party". There are eight handwritten pages by Mr. Miller that may relate to the episode or may be letters to his girlfriend. Also note that there are a multitude of different colored revision pages from many different dates (apparently this script was revised over and over, which must have driven the actors crazy!). Note that this script (and 36 others we are auctioning in separate auctions) were acquired by mega Tarzan collector Phil Petras from his good friend Denny Miller. Mr. Miller, a former screen Tarzan, did much TV work in the 1960s, and he saved his copies of scripts (and a few scripts that he was sent but he did not appear in the filmed episode, or the script was never filmed), and he sold them all to Mr. Petras. Many of his scripts have his name written on the cover, and many have his character's dialog highlighted, and some have some comments from Mr. Miller written on the cover or within!
