An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) No Dough Boys, the 1944 Jules White World War II (WWII) Japanese/Nazi slapstick comedy short ("You'll go slap-happy when the Stooges go Jap-happy!"; "A Columbia Short-Subject Presentation"; one of the wackier stooges shorts, with a patriotic theme during World War II; the stooges are dressed as Japanese soldiers for a magazine photo shoot, and they are eating at a restaurant, and they talk with their mouths full, and the restaurant owner thinks they are spies and calls the police, and they end up in a house with German spies, and the head German, played by Vernon Dent, realizes they are impostors, but pretends they are three Japanese spies they are expecting, named "Waki", "Naki" and "Saki", and he asks them to prove they are really Japanese by performing jiu-jitsu, and they do the best they can by doing acrobatics, but then the real Japanese spies show up, and they are exposed, but fortunately, they end up capturing all the spies!) starring The Three Stooges (Curly Howard, Moe Howard, Larry Fine), Vernon Dent, and Christine McIntyre. Note that this short required the stooges to perform acrobatic acts, and fortunately, they had done just such acts in their vaudeville routines from decades earlier, and they had a chance to do them again, and they did so admirably! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that Three Stooges collectors place a high premium on posters from the shorts that had Curly in them, before he was replaced by his brother Shemp. However, those posters rarely come up for sale, and the last one-sheet we had from a Three Stooges short with Curly as one of the three leads was from 1946's "Three Loan Wolves", and that was four years ago, and it auctioned for $3,500! Now we are auctioning this one-sheet, which is from two years earlier! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had small paper loss at the bottom crossfold and tiny paper loss at the top two crossfolds. It had separation and tiny paper loss on parts of some folds, and pinholes around the edges. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Learn More about condition grades
