An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Dutch Movie Poster (measures 27 1/2" x 39 1/2" [70 x 100 cm]) (Learn More) Op Een Avond in Mei (literally translates to "One Evening In May"), the 1936 Jaap Speyer Dutch romantic comedy starring (about a woman who is in love with a tenor but her father objects, but then the father falls in love and everything works out in the end) Johan Elsensohn, Cissy Van Bennekom, Adolphe Engers, Henk Speyer, and Marie Van Westerhoven. It appears this movie was never released in the U.S. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that movie paper from this film is incredibly rare. We have never auctioned even a single movie paper item from this movie until we were consigned this poster (which is a "country of origin" poster for this Dutch movie!). Virtually no Dutch posters survive from the 1940s or earlier, because during World War II there were many paper shortages resulting in the destruction of almost all pre-World War II posters! Note also that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good. There is darkening in the top quarter of the vertical foldline and a few faint brown stains around the edges. Otherwise the poster has survived in pretty nice condition!
