eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 5b0631 ACTOR magazine 1939 cover art of sexy naked fan dancer Sally Rand, World's Fair Edition! Date Sold 9/26/2023Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Magazine (measures 9" x 12" [23 x 30 cm]) (Learn More) The Actor ("America's only pictorial theatrical magazine"), the 1939 (at least) magazine published with illustrated stories about the entertainment world. The only issue we have seen is volume 1 number 11, which is a special "World's Fair Edition" that was done in conjunction with the Golden Gate International Exposition held in San Francisco in 1939, and that issue had an artwork cover of a nude Sally Rand literally standing with one foot at the New York World's Fair and one foot in the San Francisco World's Fair, with her fans not covering her (which seems really risque for a 1939 magazine!). There are interior stories about the World's Fair and an ad on the inside front cover for Sally Rand's Star-Studded Revue at The Music Box in San Francsico and includes a completely nude photo of Sally Rand. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Important Added Info: Note that we have provided a picture of the front cover of the magazine, and pictures of interior two-page spreads (including the table of contents page if there is one; but we didn't make much effort to find the best ones!). These images should greatly help you judge the overall condition of the magazine, and the contents page lets you know exactly what articles and stories are contained in this particular issue. Please know that these magazines are sealed in bags and are ready for shipping, and we cannot answer any questions about them or look through them for you, so please bid (or do not bid) based on the images we have provided. Finally, note that this item contains some nudity, so we have placed a white bar over those areas for those who are bothered by such images. Of course, the actual item does not have the white bars. Condition: good. There is darkening and staining on the cover (see our image). Note that we have attempted to check to see if the magazine is complete and uncut, and we believe that it is. However, there is a slight possibility that we might have missed a small cut or a page that was neatly removed, and if that happens, you can return the magazine. We have solely provided an overall description of the condition of the magazine, but you can also refer to our super-sized images. Please bid (or not bid) based on that overall grade and by viewing the super-sized images. Learn More about condition grades
