An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36") (Learn More) The Girl from Missouri (also released as "Born to Be Kissed"), the 1934 Jack Conway romantic comedy starring Jean Harlow (in the title role as Edith Chapman), Lionel Barrymore, Franchot Tone, Lewis Stone, Patsy Kelly, and Henry Kolker. Note that star Jean Harlow really WAS from Missouri! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. The poster had paper loss in the left 6" of the top border. Most of the missing paper was blank white paper, but it included a slight bit of the image background in the very top left corner, and a fine strip of paper loss in the extreme top edge of some of Harlow's hair. There were pinholes in the corners and some creases and smudges around the edges of the poster. There were some smudges in the solid yellow background area. Overall, this extremely rare poster was in quite nice condition prior to paperbacking. It was paperbacked solely to replace the missing paper in the left of the top border (which, as is said above, only included a tiny bit of the image edge). The restorer chose to replace that missing area, but not put any paint anywhere on the image, which I think was a very wise decision, as the only "defect" is the faint smudges in the yellow background area, which are not at all distracting.
