An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (pb; measures 15" x 22" [38 x 56 cm]; 8 pages) (Learn More) Dracula's Daughter, the 1936 Lambert Hillyer Universal vampire monster horror thriller ("Look Out! She'll Get You!"; "She gives you that weird feeling!"; "Based upon the Bram Stoker story 'Dracula's Guest'"; "Story suggested by Oliver Jeffries") starring Otto Kruger, Gloria Holden (in the title role as Countess Marya Zaleska), Marguerite Churchill, Edward Van Sloan (as Professor Van Helsing), Gilbert Emery, Irving Pichel, Billy Bevan (one of the better Charlie Chaplin imitators of the time), Nan Gray, Hedda Hopper, Halliwell Hobbes, Claude Allister, Edgar Norton, and E.E. Clive NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned three examples of this first release pressbook. The first one we auctioned sold for $17,500. Since that time, we auctioned two more, and one of those two examples has now been reconsigned to us, so this is still only one of three examples we have ever auctioned! Note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of this pressbook (if the back cover is not the poster page, we photographed the interior poster page), and of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are auctioning (plus any supplements or heralds described above)! Also note that this pressbook is complete and uncut! Given that theater owners received pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut! Condition: good to very good, NO CUTS. The pressbook is complete and uncut. It was folded once in each direction. The covers have mostly separated down the spine, and the front cover has separated across the middle, and there is some separation on the other fold, with some tiny paper loss at the bottom center of the cover and some scuffs and tiny bits of surface paper loss on parts of the folds. The pressbook must be handled very carefully, as it is fragile, but this is not unusual with pressbooks from this time. Learn More about condition grades
