An Original Vintage Theatrical Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22") (Learn More) The March of Time was the most popular of the many movie theater newsreels. This series was shown between 1935 and 1951, after having been a radio show from 1931 to 1935. Over the years, different stock posters and lobby cards were created for this series, sometimes with information about a specific newsreel printed or over-printed on to the poster. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this window card is from the very first newsreels of "The March of Time"! From 1931 to 1935, they were broadcast on radio, and in 1935, they became a newsreel feature ("See your favorite radio program now in Motion Pictures"), and remained extremely popular until 1951, when TV pretty much killed the need for newsreel footage in movie theaters. Note that because the series was expensive to produce, it was almost always a money-loser, even though it was very popular. This window card was never folded. Often window cards would be folded across the middle, because that would make them 11" x 14", and they could then be sent with standard folded posters. Most collectors put an added value on a window card that has never been folded. Condition: very good to fine. Learn More about condition grades
