An Original Vintage Theatrical 8 1/4" x 10" [21 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Alan Ladd was a major leading actor from the 1930s to the 1960s. Surprisingly, he appeared in a number of movies before he became a major star with his portrayal as a hired killer in "This Gun For Hire" in 1941. Some of his movies include: Shane, The Carpetbaggers, The Glass Key, The Blue Dahlia, and Two Years Before the Mast. He married much older Sue Carol, who had been a major actress in the 1920s and early 1930s, and who had become an agent. They remained married until he passed away in 1964 at the age of 50 from a drug and alcohol overdose. Important Added Info: Note that this movie was first released in 1941, but it was re-released in 1946 after Alan Ladd became a major star. We can't say for certain that this still is from the 1941 first release, but we think it probably is! If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
