An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) a circa 1940s stock poster ("The top comedy team of all time!") created by Western Adventure Pictures for use by theaters showing re-releases of Stan Laurel & Oliver Hardy movies in 1940s. Theaters would order this poster, which has a large blank area at the bottom. Sometimes the studio would overprint the stock poster with the title of a specific movie, and sometimes they sent a series of large paper snipes with the titles of specific entries of the series, so the theater could paste in each snipe as needed, thus getting many posters for the price of one. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had small tears and tiny bits of paper loss across the top horizontal fold and in the top quarter of the vertical foldline, with a lesser amount of wear on the other folds. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
