Van Dyke II") amnesia romantic divorce screwball comedy ("It's one long, loud L-A-U-G-H!"; based on the novel by Octavus Roy Cohen; about a boring businessman about to be divorced from his wife, but then he is hit on the head, and realizes he is actually a great con man, and he sets about trying to win back his wife!) starring William Powell, Myrna Loy, Frank McHugh, Edmund Lowe, Donald Douglas, and Nella Walker NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this half-sheet, which has a solid red background (but we did previously auction a different first release half-sheet that had a solid black background and a different image). Note that this poster was once folded, and if it can be refolded without damaging it or bringing back the creases, we are willing to do so, but because it is old and somewhat fragile, we would much prefer to send it in a large flat package, and we don't want to roll it, because that would have an excellent chance of damaging it. We will only send it rolled if the new owner accepts responsibility if it is damaged from being rolled. Please bear all this in mind before placing your bid on this rare poster. Condition: good to very good. The poster has some separation and tiny paper loss at the center crossfold and someone performed some amateur restoration with black marker to that area (see our image). There are two patches of surface paper loss in Powell's hair at upper right and those have some pencil touch up. It has some pinholes around the edges and blank corner loss at lower right and upper left. After proper restoration the poster will display well (but bear in mind the poster's condition as described above and see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this very rare poster prior to placing a bid).
