Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 22" x 28") (Learn More) Lost Planet Airmen, the 1951 Fred C. Brannon New York City science fiction (sci-fi) thriller ("Top secret! The brains and brawn of America combine to hold off the madmen who would rock the world in disaster!"; "Re-edited from 'King of the Rocket Men"; about a group of atomic scientists who suspect a traitor in their midst, so one of the scientists becomes a super hero Rocket Man, and works on exposing the evil "Dr. Vulcan", who has a device that can cause an earthquake, and when the Mayor of New York City refuses to pay a billion dollar ransom, the device is used, and there is an earthquake and massive tsunami in New York City's harbor, which was done by reusing footage from Republic's earlier 1939 disaster movie, "S.O.S. Tidal Wave"!) starring Tristram Coffin, Mae Clarke, Don Haggerty, House Peters Jr., and James Craven. Note that because this movie was massively edited from the 1949 Republic serial "King of the Rocket Men", and because it was made two years later, and because it was so condensed that entire characters were lost and major plot elements were eliminated, many collectors see it as a re-edited separate movie, and not as a feature version of a serial, so we list it as a separate title, but we don't argue with anyone who sees it as the "feature version" of the serial. Note that in 1966, an entirely different feature version of "King of the Rocket Men" was created for TV distribution. Also note that in 1967, a country rock band was formed which called itself "Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen", and the lead singer, George Frayne, took the name "Commander Cody"!
