An Undated (probably early 1940s) Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Three-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 41" x 81") (Learn More) Boots and Saddles, the 1937 Joseph Kane singing cowboy western musical ("Original Story by Jack Natteford") starring Gene Autry, Smiley Burnette, Judith Allen, Ronald Sinclair (billed as "R.A. Hould"), and Guy Usher. Note that Ronald Sinclair is an interesting, but pretty forgotten actor. He was a child actor (billed under his birth name, which was "Richard Arthur Hould", or "R.A. Hould") in the late 1930s, who retired from acting in the 1940s. Later, he resurfaced as a film editor, and he worked on famous movies, including "Die Hard" in 1988. He passed away in 1992 at the age of 68. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: This three-sheet was printed in 2 sections. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and the restorer did a good job, but you can see signs of the restoration from inches away (since most people look at posters framed on a wall from at least a few feet away, we don't feel this is a defect, but we feel it should be noted). See below for this poster's pre-restoration condition (we are the only major auction company we know of that shares this information with our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). good to very good. The poster had paper loss in the upper left crossfold which falls in the forehead of the girl at the upper left. It also had tears and creases along many foldlines, and some areas of paper loss at some crossfolds. There were smudges and creases throughout the poster (more noticeable in the solid background areas and in the borders). The person who restored the poster did a pretty nice job restoring the above defects, but you can still somewhat see them (mostly the restored hole in the girl's forehead at the upper left). If I owned this poster, I would have a good restorer do additional touch-up to that area, which could be done without re-backing the poster. At some point after linenbacking, the poster was water stained in the back of the poster at the back of the upper left corner. It is noticeable from the back of the linen, but barely noticeable from the front of the poster. Learn More about condition grades
