An Original Vintage Linenbacked French Travel Poster (measures 24 3/4" x 39 1/2" [63 x 100 cm]) (Learn More) Rouen, the circa 1930s French poster encouraging travel to Rouen, the capital city of Normandy in France. This poster features great Monsnergue art of the La cour d'albane, part of a historic cathedral located in Rouen. Of course, Rouen is best remembered for being the place where Joan of Arc (Jeanne D'Arc) was burned at the stake. If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Artist: Monsnergue Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tears and smudges on parts of some foldlines, and tiny paper loss and many smudges in the white background area directly below the center of the image. There were some tears and smudges around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Learn More about condition grades
