An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Night of the Living Dead, the classic 1968 George A. Romero & John A. Russo end-of-the-world science fiction (sci-fi) walking-dead undead zombie horror thriller ("They won't stay dead!"; "They keep coming back in a bloodthirsty lust for human flesh!... Pits the dead against the living in a struggle for survival!") starring Judith O'Dea, Duane Jones, Marilyn Eastman, Karl Hardman, Judith Ridley, Kyra Schon, Charles Craig, Keith Wayne, Randy Burr, S. William Hinzman (billed as "Bill Heinzman"; as the graveyard zombie), George A. Romero (the director, as one of the Washington reporters!), Russell Streiner, Ella Mae Smith, Dick Heckard, John Kirch, Paula Richards, George Kosana, John Russo, Richard Ricci, and Terry Gindele NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has a quote from a Pittsburgh review at the top which is missing from the "regular" one-sheet (and re-release one-sheets), and in the past, we were uncertain of the date of this poster. However, a search of archived newspapers shows that this quote was used to advertise the film at least as early as October 22nd of 1968. As the film premiered in Pittsburgh on October 1st, it seems certain that this poster is from the first release of the film in 1968. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked and during the backing process, its defects were repaired and it now looks nice. From any distance away, you can't see what restoration was done. It may have had only very minor defects, or it may have had more significant defects that were well restored. It is possible that you can see SOME traces of the restoration from a distance, but if so, we clearly note it below. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had small holes at the crossfolds and small tears, creases, and a couple of tiny areas of paper loss in the foldlines. There were many pinholes around the edges of the poster. The poster was well linenbacked. From any distance away it looks fine, but from close up, you can see signs of the restoration. Learn More about condition grades
