An Original Vintage German Film Program (measures 9" x 12" [23 x 30 cm]; 8 pages) (Learn More) Spione (released in the U.S in 1929 as "Spies" and released in England as "The Spy"), the classic 1928 Fritz Lang German silent spy espionage crime thriller (based on the novel by Thea von Harbou; a massively complex story of a beautiful Russian spy who convinces a German army officer to betray his country by paying him; her employer is the head of a massive spy organization operating throughout Germany; meanwhile, the head of the German Secret Service is after the head of the spy group, and he assigns his best agent, known only as "Number 326" to catch him, and when the head of the spy group learns about the agent, he assigns the female spy to stop him, but they end up falling in love with each other, and that only begins to cover the many plots included in this movie!) starring Rudolf Klein-Rogge, Gerda Maurus, Lien Dyers, Louis Ralph, Craighall Sherry, Willy Fritsch (as Number 326), Lupu Pick, and Fritz Rasp NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: FL. Important Added Info: Note that we have seen two different variations of this program. One has all blue printing on the cover and the other has blue and black printing on the cover. Some have speculated that the one with less color might be from a second printing in 1928 when more programs were needed, but we have found no verification of that. This auction is for the program with the blue cover, so bear the above information in mind before placing a bid on this program. Also note that this is a "country of origin" item for this German movie! Also note that we have provided an image of four of the pages of this 8-page program (we did this by opening it and laying it flat and photographing the front and back cover together, and two of the interior pages together). You can see the four of the 8 pages, and can well determine the exact condition of it from our super-sized image, but realize that there are 4 pages you are not seeing. But of course this means that the front cover appears in the top right of our image, but normally, the program would be folded down the center and you would view the cover by itself (and it will be sent folded as was originally intended). Condition: very good. The program has minor wear around the edges. Learn More about condition grades
