An Original Vintage Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) Western Methods, the 1929 silent cowboy western ("Robert J. Horner presents Fred Church") starring Fred Church. Note that Fred Church is pretty forgotten today, but he started in westerns in 1908, and made hundreds of them over the next two decades, appearing with Bronco Billy Anderson in many movies. He continued after the coming of sound, but made far fewer movies, and completely retired in 1936. Amazingly, he lived all the way until 1983, passing away at the age of 93. Also, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: very good.
