An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (pb; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]; 6 pages) (Learn More) Man Beast, the 1956 Jerry Warren science fiction (sci-fi) horror thriller ("Hair-raising excitement in the icy lair of the man-like creatures roaming the roof of the world!"; "Bestial Monster Madness!"; "See: Death-drop of 21,000 feet by panicked climber! See: Most daring mountain climbing ever filmed! See: Women stalked and captured for breeding by Yeti monsters"; "Sub-human creatures-survivors of the ice age... Titans of the terror that live today!"; "Thrills and chills scream from the screen as sub-human monsters go on a rampaging blood-binge!"; "You read about them in Time, True, Argosy, Newsweek, Pageant, Popular Science Magazines") starring Rock Madison, Virigina Maynor, Tom Maruzzi, Lloyd Nelson, George Wells Lewis, George Skaff, Jack Haffner, and Wong Sing. Note that "Rock Madison" was a name coined by director Warren to sound like a cool movie star name (it was a combination of Rock Hudson and Guy Madison). He intended to re-name star Tom Maruzzi as "Rock Madison", but apparently Maruzzi wanted to be billed under his own name (you can't blame him!) and Warren ended up top billing Rock Madison and Maruzzi got third billing. Since the movie has a yeti in it, one could imagine that the person who played the yeti was "Rock Madison", but actually, many actors took turns wearing the yeti suit, so this is an odd case of a movie having a top-billed actor who did not exist and was not in the movie! Important Added Info: Note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of this pressbook (if the back cover is not the poster page, we photographed the interior poster page), and of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are auctioning (plus any supplements or heralds described above)! Also note that this pressbook is complete and uncut! Given that theater owners purchased pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut! Condition: very good to fine, NO CUTS. The pressbook is complete and uncut. It is folded across the middle, but otherwise, it is in nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
