Santa Claus (released in the U.S. in 1960), the 1959 Rene Cardona Mexican family Christmas holiday fantasy melodrama ("An enchanting world of make-believe!"; "Bursting upon our big screen with all the colors of the rainbow... a prize-winning blue ribbon treat for old and young alike! Here's something for the whole family to see together! The Management"; "Full length! Full Color!"; "Best Family Films Award San Francisco Film Festival"; "All the wonders and the sparkle and the beauty unfold before your very eyes!"; "A full-length movie especially for kids ... from 2 to 92!"; "See Santa's famous candy-stick workshop. See Merlin the fantastic magician. The land of the candy buildings"; about Santa defeating an evil plot by the devil Pitch with the help of Merlin the magician) starring Jose Elias Moreno (in the title role as Santa Claus), Jose Luis Aguirre, Cesareo Quezdas Pulgarcito, Armando Arriola, Lupita Quezadas, and Nora Veryan. Note that this Mexican movie was not like the usual children's movies of that time period, and that it showed a literal devil tempting children!
