An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded French One-Panel "Grande" Movie Poster (1p; measures 45 1/2" x 61 1/2") (Learn More) Le Chagrin et la Pitie (released in the U.S. as "The Sorrow and the Pity: Chronicle of a French City Under the Occupation"), the classic 1971 Marcel Ophuls (the son of director Max Ophuls) French/Swiss/German World War II (WWII) historical documentary (about French collaboration with Nazi Germany when they were occupied during World War II) featuring interviews by Marcel Ophuls with Frenchmen who lived through World War II, including Georges Bidault, Raphael Geminiani, Charles Braun, Henri Rochat, and Marius Klein. Note that the film runs a massive 251 minutes (and this was classically parodied in "Annie Hall", where obsessive compulsive Woody Allen can't go into the movie a few minutes after it started!). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a rare "country of origin" poster for this partially French movie! Condition: very good. Learn More about condition grades
