An Original Vintage Paperbacked Magazine Cover (measures 10 1/2" x 14 1/4") (Learn More)

Leslie's ("Illustrated Weekly Newspaper"), an early 20th century magazine like the Saturday Evening Post, but which did not survive nearly as long. Each issue had a great full-color cover by a noted artist who signed his name on his art. If anyone knows more about this magazine, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
Artist: Clyde Forsythe
Important Added Info: Note that this cover has a wonderful "political cartoon" on its cover which shows Uncle Sam dressed in a baseball uniform and preparing to use a bat to hit a pitched baseball which has the Kaiser's face and a German helmet on it! Also note that this paperbacked magazine cover is from a collection that was consigned to us by a man who collected the covers of these magazines only (of course choosing the ones with the absolute best art!), and he had all of them professionally paperbacked, which not only presents them far better, but which makes them extremely easy to frame and enjoy (not only are these works of art by famous artists of the early to middle 20th century, but they also are very nostalgic, showing America when it was growing from a minor country to the leading world power, and any of them look great framed on a wall!).

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The cover was folded down the middle and it had a scuff near the center and some faint stains and scuffs around the edges. The restorer backed the magazine cover "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above (any restorer could touch them up without re-backing the cover).
