An Original Vintage Television Script (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm], 231 pages) (Learn More)

Frank Waldman was a screenwriter who started out very promisingly writing the screenplay for "Bathing Beauty" and "Our Hearts Were Growing Up" in 1944 and 1946. But then, he completely disappeared (as far as we could find), and reappeared in 1955, when he started writing TV screenplays with his brother Tom. They wrote quite a bit for TV and then they made the acquaintance of Blake Edwards, and they did much work together, writing the screenplays for The Party, and a number of the Inspector Clouseau Pink Panther movies. We are currently auctioning six bound volumes of Frank Waldman's screenplays (in six separate auctions) and they are from the early 1960s and a few from later in the 1960s, and we believe that they are all screenplays he wrote that never made it to production, and likely Mr. Waldman had them bound, because he was proud of his work and wanted it preserved, even though it was unproduced! In the case of this one bound volume, it contains six TV scripts, and two of them WERE produced, but four were not. If anyone knows more about the Waldmans (especially why they did not writing we can find for nine years), or about this specific script, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
Important Added Info: "FRANK WALDMAN" and "MISC. TV 1964-65" is embossed in gold foil on the spine of the hardcover binding. Also note that this volume contains four scripts from The Cara Williams Show, and only one of them ("Variety is the Spice of Wife") actually made it to air. It also includes a script for The Rogues ("A Daring Step Backward"), and that script made it to the air. Finally, it includes a script for "Tom, Dick & Mary" that was never aired. Interestingly, some of the unaired scripts contain revision pages, so some of them surely made it into production to some degree.

Note: We have 21 images of this script, but due to a space limitation, only TEN of the 21 images are displayed above. However, there is a "supersize" link to the right of those images that lets you see the other 11.

Condition: fine. The bound volume is in excellent condition! See our multiple images to get a good sense of the exact condition of this script.
