Date Sold 12/30/2018Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Folded Style A Three-Sheet Poster (3sh; measures 41" x 81" [104 x 206 cm]) (Learn More) The Secret Sharer, the 1952 John Brahm seafaring adventure thriller ("From the salty pen of the world's greatest sea-story author... The storm-swept drama of a stowaway charged with murder... and the Captain who could free or condemn him!"; "Surging suspense sails the storm-tossed seas! Thunderous thrills and white-lipped suspense in a raging drama of sailing-ship days!"; "Joseph Conrad's stirring drama of the sea!"; "Story by Joseph Conrad") starring James Mason, Gene Lockhart, and Michael Pate. Note that this movie was released as a "new kind of double-bill" by RKO in 1952 under the title of "Face to Face", which included this movie and the movie "The Bride Comes to Yellow Sky". Apparently, they also made the decision to create independent releases for both short movies (approximately 45 minutes long each), so they prepared one-sheets for this part of the double bill (and also for the other part). The one-sheet offered here is for the solo release of this movie, and movie paper from this release is far more rare than that from the double bill. The films were a vanity project for producer Huntington Hartford (the A&P grocery chain heir) who cast his wife (Marjorie Steele) in the Bride film, and hired famous author James Agee to help with the script (and who also played a role in the Bride movie). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this three-sheet! Also note that this three-sheet was printed in 2 sections designed to overlap. Condition: good to very good. There are some creases and several tears along the folds that were on the outside when the poster was fully folded.
