An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style C One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Broadway Rhythm, the 1944 Roy Del Ruth New York City family relationship romantic musical ("M-G-M's terrific Technicolor topper!"; "Based on the musical 'Very Warm for May' by Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein, 2nd"; "Story by Jack McGowan"; about a Broadway producer who is obsessed with signing "big names" to star in his latest musical, but he ignores his father and his sister, and they consider starting a competing show starring themselves) starring George Murphy, Ginny Simms, Charles Winninger, Gloria DeHaven, Nancy Walker, Ben Blue, Lena Horne, Eddie 'Rochester' Anderson, Hazel Scott, Kenny Bowers, The Ross Sisters, Dean Murphy, and Tommy Dorsey & His Orchestra NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Al Hirschfeld Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: poor to fair. The poster had paper loss at the top and bottom crossfolds, with other areas of paper loss scattered in the vertical fold. It had a lesser amount of wear on the horizontal folds, with some tears and pinholes in the borders. Overall, the poster was in poor to fair condition prior to linenbacking. Some restorer mounted the poster and put paper fill in the missing areas, but then did no further restoration. They cut it from the stretcher, leaving wide linen all around, so it has an extra wide border of excess linen (see our image). Learn More about condition grades
