An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) The Roaring Twenties, the classic 1939 Raoul Walsh New York City post-World War I (WWI) Prohibition romantic love triangle organized-crime bootlegger gangster melodrama (based on the story 'The World Moves On' by Mark Hellinger; about three men who get out of the army after World War I, and two of them go into the bootlegging business, and they achieve great success, and one of them has an unrequited love for a woman!) starring James Cagney, Priscilla Lane, Humphrey Bogart, Gladys George, Jeffrey Lynn, Frank McHugh, Paul Kelly, and Al Hill NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have previously auctioned nine studio-issued lobby cards from the first release of this movie, but we have only auctioned one example of this great scene card, and that was 17 years ago, when it sold for $710! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good. The card has darkened, typical of Warner Bros. linen lobby cards of this period. It has small tears, surface paper loss, and paper loss around the edges. It was folded down the middle at one time and there is tiny surface paper loss on parts of that fold, and there is a slightly diagonal partial fold down the right of the image, with tiny surface paper loss in Bogart's shoulder. There is a similar partial diagonal fold down the left of the image, with a few tiny bits of surface paper loss in the men's clothes. There is a tack hole in the top center, and a few tiny stains in the lower left background area. In spite of the above defects, this great card can still be displayed and enjoyed, or certainly, any degree of restoration can be performed, but that will be the choice of the new owner of this ultra rare card.
