An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

White Zombie, the 1932 Victor Halperin Haitian undead voodoo zombie monster horror thriller ("She was not alive... Nor dead... Just a White Zombie performing his every desire"; "They knew this fiend was practicing zombiism on the natives, but when he tried it on a white girl the nation revolted") starring Bela Lugosi (billed as "Bela [Dracula] Lugosi"; as "Murder" Legendre), Madge Bellamy, Joseph Cawthorn, Robert Frazer, and John Harron

Important Added Info: Note that first release lobby cards from this Bela Lugosi movie have always been incredibly rare (surely because it was quickly re-released in 1938). We have only auctioned two scene cards in all our years of auctioning, and Lugosi was only pictured in one of those two (it was the same scene as this card, which sold for $2,700, and that was 14 years ago)! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: very good. The card has pinholes around the edges, with a pinhole in the middle left of the image in the bald man's coat and a pinhole in the top background area near the top of the vegetation. It has a diagonal water stain in the top right corner extending into the image background, but because the image background is dark in that area, it doesn't really show from the front. It has a smaller similar stain in the top left corner that also doesn't show from the front. Someone did some restoration to the left corners, where there were enlarged pinholes, but they did not back the card, and you can see the restoration from the back of the card. They also performed restoration to a tiny pinhole in the top center and very slight other restoration. The card displays really well, and you really don't notice any of the defects or slight restoration, but please look at our images of the front and back before bidding on this super rare card.
