An Autographed Letter (measures 4" x 5 1/4" [10 x 13 cm]) (Learn More) Roddy McDowall was an English child actor of the late 1930s and early 1940s who successfully made a transition to adult roles. Some of his movies include: Planet of the Apes (as Cornelius), How Green Was My Valley, and The Longest Day. He also did much TV in his later years. In his later years, he found much additional success as a photographer, often photographing celebrities he knew personally. He passed away in 1998 at the age of 70. Important Added Info: Note that this letter has been personally autographed (signed) by Roddy McDowall! Note that this is from a collection we were consigned that all came from a man named Ernest Hack, who wrote to celebrities during the 1930s and 1940s. Most of them are entirely handwritten by the celebrities, and while our consignor does not have a certificate of authenticity, we feel certain they are all authentic. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction.
