Auction History Result #2804 SAVING PRIVATE RYAN DS 1sh #2 '98 Date Sold 5/20/2003Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Double-Sided One-Sheet Movie Poster (27" x 41") (Learn More) Saving Private Ryan, the 1998 Steven Spielberg (winner of the Best Director Academy Award for this film) World War II (WWII) military rescue action epic ("The mission is a man."; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Tom Hanks (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Edward Burns, Matt Damon (in the title role as Private James Ryan), Tom Sizemore, Barry Pepper, Adam Goldberg, Vin Diesel (in his second credited movie role!), Giovanni Ribisi, Jeremy Davies, Ted Danson, and Bryan Cranston NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: NOTE: In this case, the #2 in the title of this sale is not the actual style of the one-sheet (whenever we know the style of a one-sheet we list it for those of you who know which style you are looking for). In this case, the posters from this particular movie were not marked, but because we are selling more than one poster from this movie this week as separate eBay sales, we needed to differentiate between the sales, and we did so by marking them "#1, #2, etc. Note that this is a double-sided one-sheet. In the 1990s movie posters were sometimes made in double-sided versions (for use in light boxes). If we do not note that a poster is double-sided (as this is), then it is single-sided. Note that the image on the reverse is a mirror image of the image on the front! Condition: very good to fine. Note that this poster has never been folded! Most studios stopped folding posters somewhere around 1980, for a while offering theaters their choice of folded or unfolded posters. But please be aware that this poster was actually used in a theater, so it almost surely has light creases caused by rolling and unrolling the poster. If you are very condition conscious, then you should not bid on this poster, as it is sure to have at least some minor imperfections (we have given a brief description of the poster's defects in our condition grading above). But if you can accept minor defects, this is a great opportunity to purchase this poster (and any of the other 1000+ one-sheets we are currently selling on eBay!). very minor creases throughout the poster (mostly around the edges) and a few light scuffs within the image area (from rolling and unrolling) Learn More about condition grades
