An Original Vintage Bound Volume of Austrian Film Programs (measures 6" x 8 3/4" [15 x 22 cm]; approximately 1,000 pages) (Learn More) Film-Kurier, the 1930s Austrian bound program book containing approximately 125 Film-Kurier Austrian programs (most or all of them are 8 pages, so there are approximately 1,000 pages!) from 125 or so different movies from 1933 (some may be from 1932 or 1934, but we suspect they are all from a very narrow time frame, as is typical of these bound volumes). What is great is that there is a list of all the titles glued onto the inside front cover (almost all of the titles are on the front of that list, but there are six that area on the back, and we have pictured both sides of that list, so that you can see all of the titles that are included in the volume). In addition, we have shown images of just a few of the programs. One of the most interesting ones is that Austrian program for Ekstase (released in in the U.S. in 1936 as "Ecstasy"), the 1933 Gustav Machaty Czechoslovakian/Austrian romantic melodrama starring Hedy Lamarr (billed as Hedy Kiesler, which was her real name!), Aribert Mog, Zvonimir Rogoz, Leopold Kramer, Emil Jerman, and Pierre Nay. Note that Hedy Lamarr had made four previous movies in her native Austria before she appeared nude in this, her fifth movie, and created a worldwide sensation! She married a rich German manufacturer, who attempted to buy up all the prints of the movie, to no avail. In 1937, she divorced her husband and moved to Hollywood, where she was renamed Hedy Lamarr, and she immediately became a major star. She lived a long and eventful life, and entire books can (and have) been filled with her exploits! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: very good. All of the 125 programs are bound into a volume. That means they were sewn in at the spine and slightly trimmed in the top, right, and bottom edges, so that they would be perfectly straight in the bound volume. Almost always, people remove the binding from these and sell the programs individually, so very few of these complete bound volumes survive. Learn More about condition grades
