Date Sold 7/20/2017Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Australian Daybill Movie Poster (db; measures 13 1/4" x 30" [34 x 76 cm]) (Learn More) G.I. Blues (GI Blues), the 1960 Norman Taurog rock 'n' roll (rock and roll) Army military romantic musical comedy ("Swing out and sound off with Elvis Presley in the red, white and blue star-bright show of the year!"; "Elvis scores... A singing triumph... And a romantic hit!"; "Written by Edmund Beloin and Henry Garson") starring Elvis Presley, Juliet Prowse, Robert Ivers, James Douglas, and Leticia Roman. Note that Elvis, unlike the vast majority of stars from the 1950s on, did not attempt to get out of his military service, and he went in to the army in 1958 (at the height of his popularity) and he got out two years later, and this was the first movie he made after returning (and naturally, he made a fictionalized version of his life in the military). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: poor to fair. There is marker writing at left center and at upper right. There is slight discoloration scattered in some areas of the poster from exposure to moisture. Please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this item prior to placing a bid and please do not bid unless you can accept the defects described above, or you are willing to pay to have them properly restored.
