An Unfolded Music Poster (AOR-2.190; measures 15 3/4" x 20 1/2" [40 x 52 cm]) (Learn More) The Grateful Dead, who were an American rock 'n' roll (rock and roll) band that was formed in 1965 and continued to 1995. The band was known for its unique and eclectic style and for live performances of long musical improvisation. They were ranked 57th in the issue The Greatest Artists of all Time by Rolling Stone magazine and they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994. Some of the band members have included Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzmann, and Ron 'Pigpen' McKernan Artist: Robert Fried Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this music poster (AOR-2.190)! This is a VERY special poster! It is not for a specific concert, but it was designed to be given to head shops to be placed in their windows (it is a transparent double-sided acetate poster that could be attached to the front or back of a window). It was the first such poster printed by the Berkeley Bonaparte company, but they made a fatal error in not first testing the poster, because it turned out that when the poster was exposed to sunlight, the ink would fade, and the entire poster would deteriorate! So very few of these survive, and most that do have significant defects. Someone once made a small find of approximately six or seven or these posters that were in wonderful condition, and all the examples that have been seen in great condition seem to trace to this amazing find. If you like incredibly rare posters with incredibly cool images, THIS is the poster for you! Also note that while this could conceivably be rolled, we will send it in a large flat package that measures 18" x 23". Please bear that extra shipping cost in mind BEFORE placing a bid on this! Condition: very good. The poster was once taped to something (likely a window, as that is what it was intended for), and there is a tape stain in the left and right of the top border, in the center of the bottom border, and in the bottom blank corners. Otherwise, the poster is in really nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
