She was sometimes referred to as the "female Valentino", and she reportedly slept 16 hours a day to maintain her beautiful skin and hair! She had a long term relationship with Orson Welles from 1938 to 1941, but they never married. Some of her movies include: Flying Down to Rio, Portrait of Maria, Rio Blanco, Journey Into Fear, and The Trail of '98. She passed away in 1983 at the age of 78. Important Added Info: Note that this photo was glued to a mat by the photographer, Victor Haverman, who also signed his name on the mat just below the photo. The photo itself measures 7 3/4" x 9 3/4" [20 x 25 cm], and the mat measures 13 1/4" x 15". Condition: good to very good. The mat has paper loss and discoloration around the edges. Since it is a very wide mat, and since the autograph is just below the photograph, it would be very simple to trim the very large mat to even out the borders and get rid of the discolored areas.
