eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 2a247 BOB KANE signed drawing '70s he drew Batman outline & wrote Bats wishes! Date Sold 6/19/2012Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Autographed Drawing (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) Bob Kane was an American comic book artist and writer from the 1930s to the 1990s. He is the co-creator of the legendary comic book hero, Batman (although he took sole credit for many years, but it eventually came out that not only did others create many of the Batman concepts, but he also drew little or no actual art, so other than the initial idea for Batman, it is not certain how much he ever actually did). He was inducted into both the comic book industry's Jack Kirby Hall of Fame in 1994 and the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame in 1996. He passed away in 1998 at the age of 83. Important Added Info: Note that this item (which is a signed drawing on heavyweight illustration board) has been personally autographed (signed) by Bob Kane! Note that this item was consigned to us by the brother of Jon Robert Shaps, a celebrity photographer in the 1970s and 1980s. He had a truly remarkable collection of signed items, which we auctioned in January of this year! We are certain this item has an authentic signature. Condition: very good to fine. There is some tiny staining in the bottom left corner and a smaller amount in the left border. Otherwise, the drawing is in nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
