An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Chapter #1 (Wings Aflame) One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Junior G-Men of the Air, the 1942 Lewis D. Collins airplane aviation Japanese spy teen juvenile delinquent crime action serial sequel ("A Universal Chapter-Play"; "All New Air-Thrills!"; "New amazing adventures with a thousand new air-thrills!") starring The Dead End Kids and The Little Tough Guys (including Huntz Hall, Billy Halop, Gabriel Dell, and Bernard Punsly), Turhan Bey, Gene Reynolds, Lionel Atwill, Frank Albertson, Frankie Darro, Richard Lane, and Kathryn Adams. Note that this movie was made when the Dead End Kids and their splinter group The Little Tough Guys were not doing so well in their sequels, and so they reunited in the 1940 Universal serial, "Junior G-Men", and that spawned this sequel, again with both groups, two years later! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never auctioned this chapter 1 one-sheet before! Also, note that a knowledgeable collector believes that Glenn Cravath created the art for this item. However, we cannot be 100% certain. If anyone has definitive proof such as signed original art, please e-mail us and we will post it here. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had small paper loss at the crossfolds and tiny tears and tiny bits of paper loss scattered on the vertical fold, and a lesser amount on the horizontal folds. It had pinholes, smudges, and stains around the edges, with some small stains in some of the letters of the title near the center of the poster. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Note that either the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster, or possibly the owner of the poster chose to carefully trim off the excess, so that the poster would fit in a frame.
