An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Village of the Damned, the classic 1960 Wolf Rilla English/U.S. science fiction (sci-fi) fantasy horror thriller ("Beware the stare that will paralyze the will of the world"; "The Weird Child-Demons!"; "Science-fiction's strangest story of the weird child-demons!"; "Demoniacal! Unearthly! The strangest story science fiction ever told!"; with a great "Screen Play by Stirling Silliphant"; "Based on the novel 'The Midwich Cuckoos' by John Wyndham") starring George Sanders, Barbara Shelley, Michael Gwynn, Martin Stephens, Laurence Naismith, and John Phillips NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked and during the backing process, its defects were repaired and it now looks nice. From any distance away, you can't see what restoration was done. It may have had only very minor defects, or it may have had more significant defects that were well restored. It is possible that you can see SOME traces of the restoration from a distance, but if so, we clearly note it below. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). There was small paper loss at the top two crossfolds and quarter-sized paper loss at the bottom crossfold. There were creases, tears, and small areas of paper loss along the foldlines. There was a 2" x 6" piece missing from the middle of the right border (including blank white paper, the solid black border, and a small part of the yellow background area) that was replaced and recreated. There were tears and many pinholes around the edges of the poster. The poster was well linenbacked. From any distance away it looks fine, but from close up, you can see signs of the restoration.
