An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded German Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 9 1/2" x 14 3/4" [24 x 37 cm]) (Learn More)

Zigeunerbaron (released in the U.S. as "The Gypsy Baron"), the 1935 Karl Hartl German romantic musical melodrama (based on an opperetta by Johann Strauss) starring Anton Walbrook (billed as "Adolf Wohlbruck"), Hansi Knoteck, Fritz Kampers, Gina Falckenberg, and Rudolf Platte. Note that this is one of five movies that were based on this operetta! Also note that Anton Walbrook's birth name was Adolf Anton Wilhelm Wohlbruck, and he appeared in many 1930s German movies, billed as "Adolf Wohlbruck", but he fled Nazi Germany in 1937 and settled in England, where he understandably changed his name!

Artist: Siegfried Trieb
Important Added Info: There are very few German movie posters from before World War II in existence (because of the massive paper shortages in Germany during World War II), and most of those few are in museums. Also note that the poster has an artist's signature on it, but we cannot make it out in the slightest. If anyone knows the name of this artist, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that this is a "country of origin" poster for this German movie!

Condition: very good. The card has a faint horizontal scuff across the middle of the image. It has a pinhole in each corner. It has a tiny tear in the lower left and lower right blank border. It has creases and tiny tears in the bottom right corner. Otherwise, the card is in pretty nice condition!
