Buff & Buff Instrument Shops, the circa 1900s advertising poster ("Precision Theodolites") promoting surveying instruments from Boston, Massachusetts. Note that this poster features great detailed art of the a theodolite! If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster was never folded. It had staining around the edges, extending into the bottom of the illustration, with some circular brown stains in the lower right and surface paper loss in the right of the bottom border, where some sort of sticker was removed (see our image). Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above.
