An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) King of Burlesque, the 1936 Sidney Lanfield New York City Broadway theater stage acting musical romantic love triangle melodrama ("From a story by Vina Delmar"; about the successful producer of a Broadway burlesque show, and his beautiful singing star; he falls in love with a rich society woman and she convinces him to switch to producing artistic plays, which all flop, and he is penniless, but his former star, who is headlining in London, returns and she gets all of their old burlesque stars to bail him out, and before long, he is back on top and back with his true love!) starring Warner Baxter, Alice Faye, Jack Oakie, Arline Judge, Mona Barrie, Gregory Ratoff, Dixie Dunbar, Fats Waller, Nick Long Jr., Kenny Baker, Jane Wyman, Keye Luke, and Lynn Bari NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. This poster was linenbacked, and the restorer did a good job, but you can see signs of the restoration from inches away (since most people look at posters framed on a wall from at least a few feet away, we don't feel this is a defect, but we feel it should be noted). See below for this poster's pre-restoration condition (we are the only major auction company we know of that shares this information with our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). very good. The borders of the poster were somewhat tattered, and the person who restored the poster expertly put new paper over much of the old blank borders (not covering the small writing at bottom). It was extremely well done and is virtually undetectable. There were small areas of paper loss at the crossfolds and creases and a few tiny tears along the foldlines. There were a few creases and smudges around the edges of the image. The poster was very well linenbacked, and it looks great! Learn More about condition grades
