Smith female detective crime solver thriller sequel ("From an original story by Scott Littleton"; "Based on characters created by Frederick Nebel"; one of a series with the same lead character) starring Jane Wyman (in the title role as Torchy Blane; at one time married to President Ronald Reagan), Allen Jenkins, Tom Kennedy, Sheila Bromley, and Joe Cunningham. Apparently, this movie started with the working title of "Playing with Dynamite", and then was changed to "Torchy Goes to Town", but ended up released as "Torchy Plays with Dynamite" (the IMDb says that the official title is "Torch Blane... Playing with Dynamite"). Note that the first Torchy Blane movie was made in 1937, called "Smart Blonde", and it starred Glenda Farrell in the lead role. There were a total of nine Torchy Blane movies. Farrell played the lead in seven of them. In two of the ones near the end of the series, Jane Wyman and Lola Lane filled in for Farrell, perhaps because she had other commitments. The series only lasted for two years, but was quite popular.
