A Linenbacked French Advertising Poster (measures 39 1/4" x 55 1/4" [100 x 140 cm]) (Learn More)

Le Pacific, the circa 1890s French advertising poster (with a tagline that translates to "The best of all paintings") promoting a brand of enamel paint sold by Cadot Freres in Lyon, France. Note that this poster features art of a boat delivering a huge can of paint to a ship with the sunset in the background. If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Important Added Info: Note that this poster ships in a very long tube (at least 33" long, but possibly 50" long or more). Therefore the shipping for this poster will be more than that for a poster that ships in a tube 32" or shorter, and possibly much more. Please bear this added shipping expense in mind before bidding on this poster. You can tell how long of a tube this poster needs to ship in by looking at the shorter dimension of its length and width and then adding 4" to that (so a 47" x 63" poster will need to ship in a 51" long tube).

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It had darkened and had some tiny bits of paper loss scattered down the left blank border. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. Many years ago, someone backed it onto a thin linen with no excess and no restoration at all. The poster could be displayed as it is, or certainly, it could be removed from the thin linen and re-backed.
