An Original Vintage Theatrical Window Card Movie Poster (measures 14" x 22") (Learn More)

The Key, the 1934 Michael Curtiz romantic love triangle melodrama (set in 1920 amidst "the troubles" in Ireland with the struggle for Irish independence; about two British officers sent to Ireland, and one has an Irish mother, and his wife was once the other officer's girlfriend, and his wife thinks she is still in love with him, but realizes that it was just nostalgia, and the friend gets the husband released after he is kidnapped and the couple is reunited) starring William Powell, Edna Best, Colin Clive, Hobart Cavanaugh, Halliwell Hobbes, Donald Crisp, Anne Shirley (in an early bit part as a flower girl!), and Gertrude Short

Condition: very good. There are faint water stains in the top blank area and there are faint water stains in the bottom credits area. The ones in the bottom are mostly around the edges of the credits, but there is a line of faint water stains that goes through the center of the title and the right edge of the credits beneath it. There are some scuff marks in the solid background area surrounding Powell's head and a very few within his image (typical of Warner Bros. window cards of this time, and something to do with the type of inks that were used). There are some smudges throughout the solid white background areas. The card is completely unrestored. The above defects are not very distracting, and I would think many collectors could happily display this great window card exactly as it is. Or it is extremely likely that a talented restorer could remove (or greatly reduce) the smudges and stains through chemical means, and after restoration, this great card could be made to look "perfect"!
