An Original Vintage Unfolded Political Campaign Poster (measures 16 3/4" x 23" [43 x 58 cm]) (Learn More) McCarthy, the 1968 political campaign poster ("He stood up alone and something happened.") encouraging citizens to vote for Senator Eugene McCarthy for president in the 1968 presidential election. Note that McCarthy was a very liberal senator, who was one of the first to oppose the Vietnam War, and his strong showing in the early Democratic primaries caused President Johnson to choose to not run again for president, and Hubert Humphrey ran instead. Note that this poster was designed by Fred Hindel, and features an image of Senator McCarthy which was taken by an unknown photographer. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. It has now been reconsigned to us so it is still the only example of this poster we have ever auctioned!
