An Unfolded Advertising Poster (measures 27" x 41 1/2" [69 x 105 cm]) (Learn More)

Ford Motor Company is a multinational automaker from 1907 to the present. Ford was founded by Henry Ford and refined the moving assembly line concept to make cars more marketable to a middle-class market. Ford is currently the second largest U.S.-based automaker and fifth in the world!
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning! Also note that in response to the growing trend of purchasing automobiles through credit, the Ford Motor Company initiated the Ford Weekly Purchase Plan in 1923. This program allowed customers to deposit five dollars weekly into a bank account until they had saved enough to buy a new Model T outright. However, the plan did not achieve its intended success, as potential buyers realized they could achieve the same goal by setting up their own savings accounts! Note that the first Model T Fords cost $825 in 1909, which was far beyond the means of most people at that time. Henry Ford realized this and was able to get the price down to the low three hundreds by the middle 1920s, but that still was too much for many people, which was why they created this purchase plan.

Condition: good. The poster was created on a fairly heavy paper (but it can still be rolled) and it acquired tears and small paper loss around the edges with a 10" tear in the right of the top border, going through the "D" of "FORD" (but almost no paper loss on that tear). Someone performed some minor restoration to the back of the poster (no doubt to slow the tears, and they performed slight restoration to parts of front of the borders. It is hard to know what defects were there before the restoration and which were acquired after. If I owned this poster, I would surely have it professionally restored, but that will be the choice of the new owner of this really cool (and no doubt incredibly rare) poster.
