An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) The Mad Miss Manton, the 1938 Leigh Jason romantic murder mystery crime thriller (about a zany society woman who sees a dead body and reports a murder, but nobody believes her, so she gets her society friends together to try to solve the murder themselves) starring Barbara Stanwyck (in the title role as Melsa Manton), Henry Fonda, Sam Levene, Frances Mercer, Stanley Ridges, Whitney Bourne, Vickie Lester, and Penny Singleton NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. The poster had nail holes, tears, and paper loss around the edges. The entire card had darkened and there were some faint smudges and stains scattered in the image. There was a hole near the top of Fonda's nose and creases across the lower center of the image. Overall, the poster was in fair condition prior to linenbacking. Someone linenbacked the card decades ago and they performed paint restoration around the edges and slightly in the image. The restoration in the border has now turned pure white (and/or the card has darkened), so it is very noticeable.
